Refund Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

1. One-off reports

KickTyres is pay-as-you-go: each inspection report is a one-off purchase tied to a single vehicle. There is no subscription and no recurring or automatic billing. We never charge you on an ongoing basis.

  • If a technical fault on our side prevents you from completing an inspection or receiving your report, we will fix it or refund you in full. Your choice.
  • If you paid but haven’t started the inspection, contact us within 14 days for a full refund.
  • Once an inspection is completed and the report delivered, the service has been supplied. If the report was faulty, incomplete, or didn’t do what we described, tell us and we’ll put it right or refund you. This is in addition to, and does not limit. Your statutory rights below.

2. Incorrect plate entry

You are responsible for entering the correct plate number before completing payment. If a plate is entered incorrectly and a lookup is performed against that plate, no refund is issued, the service has been delivered as requested. Please double-check your plate before paying.

3. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986. If you are an Australian consumer, nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a refund for a major failure. Where the service fails to meet a guarantee under either country’s law, you are entitled to the remedies that law provides, regardless of the timeframes above.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@kicktyres.com from your account email with the date of the charge. Refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days.
