How much does a KickTyres report cost?
Three choices, all one-off and in NZD. Basic Info $11.00 (rego, WoF, odometer, stolen check) or Full History Info $14.90 (adds money owing, ownership and odometer history, and a valuation) — and on either, you can add the AI analysis and guided inspection, taking them to $17.90 and $24.90 respectively. Or take the Inspection Only for $14.90: the guided checklist with no data pull. Looking up a vehicle is free.
What's the difference between an Info product and a Report?
An Info product hands you the vehicle data and stops — no AI analysis, no inspection checklist. A Report takes that same data and adds the AI photo analysis, the documented faults for that exact engine, a repair estimate and a negotiation figure, plus the guided inspection. If you just want to check money owing before you drive across town, Info is enough. If you are about to make an offer, take the Report.
Is it a subscription?
No. Every product is a one-off payment, from $11.00. Nothing bills you on a recurring basis.
I am in Australia — can I use KickTyres?
Yes, and at the same NZD prices. Automatic plate lookup is not available for Australian vehicles yet, so you enter your vehicle details manually instead — the AI analysis, documented faults, valuation and guided inspection all work exactly the same from there.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — if the report fails to generate or there is a genuine problem with it, we refund you. See our refunds policy for details.
How does a $17.90 report compare to a mechanic's inspection?
A physical mechanic pre-purchase inspection typically costs $150-$300. KickTyres is designed for research, shortlisting, and negotiation — use it on several cars for a fraction of that, then book a mechanic on the one you decide to buy.
