Refrigerant (R134a) leaks slowly from corrosion pits in the condenser fins or end-tank welds. This leads to progressive loss of air conditioning performance before complete failure. The condenser is mounted at the front of the vehicle and is exposed to stone chips and corrosive debris. Replacement is the only reliable fix once corrosion begins leaking.
